The largest group of staff are engaged in research connected with gender and diversity, albeit from the differing backgrounds of employment studies and organisational psychology. In the former area, there has been a strong tradition of work from an institutional perspective examining conditions of persisting gender inequality in employment, both in a UK and an international context. In the latter area, research has examined not only issues of gender diversity in the UK and Europe but also relating to ethnic origin, disability and age. Other contributions in the area of gender and diversity have focused on diversity in a global, but particularly Asian, context.
